These last few weeks have been quite busy with all of our fraction work. We've compared fractions with like denominators, like numerators, we've ever worked with finding a common denominator. I love hearing "I get it!" and "Oh I can do this!". On the days when math is especially difficult we often back up and try it again. Then we are more successful!
The few days before Thanksgiving vacation we were able to start adding and subtracting fractions. Luckily for us they already had like denominators. We will continue along this path for the next week or so, to be sure that we are all very comfortable with fractions. Below are are few of the problems students will see this week.
