Tuesday afternoon we had a special visitor to our school. Our city mayor came by to ask for our students help. He had heard that we were becoming a Leader In Me school and thought that perhaps we could help to raise money for our communities food bank. The students seemed pretty excited about this idea. As a class and grade we were giving the challenge to build a business that would earn money to donate to the food bank. We will be holding a craft fair/grand opening even sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas where the public will be invite to come and purchase our goods.
We have decided that as a fourth grade class we would create out business around Idaho and that we would recycle and re-purpose in our production where possible.
As a class we have made a HUGE list of items that we could make, we are in the process of narrowing it down to a few that we can do really well. To help save on some costs we will be sending home a letter soon asking for donations of thing that you already have. Some of the things that we might need include: yarn, string, newspapers, magazines, plastic bags. I hope you are as excited about this project as we are. Thanks in advance for all you do.
